Join the 2010 Census Team The US Census Bureau has temporary, part-time opportunities available with the 2010 Census. Those interested may apply now for the positions of Census Takers, Census Crew Leaders, Census Crew Leader Assistants, Recruiting Assistants, and Census Clerks. All applicants must pass a written test. To obtain information and register for upcoming tests, call toll free 866-861-2010. The Census Bureau has a local testing location at the Lakes of the Four Seasons Clubhouse, 1048 Lake Shore Drive. Applicants must bring two forms of indentification to the testing location. For more details about acceptable identification, testing locations and to download a practice test, visit 2010Censusjobs.gov online.

What's Happening in Kouts

Kouts is a close-knit community built on character and pride and rich in history. Named after the Barnhardt Kouts family, Kouts officially became a community in 1865 for the early settlers coming to this area along the Kankakee River. It was incorporated in 1921, when electricity first came into town.

We've come a long way since explorers Marquette and LaSalle traveled through the area in the late 1600s.

With our schoools, churches and other community organizations guiding our community leadership, we have a bright future ahead as we seek to become a model community in the new millennium.
